Synopsis

An animated anthology series that adapts a selection of traditional Western fairy tales and folk narratives from a wide range of classic authors and collections, including stories originating in 1001 Nights and works by writers such as Perrault, the Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen, Carlo Collodi, Lewis Carroll, Jonathan Swift, Alexandre Dumas, E. T. A. Hoffmann, L. Frank Baum, Johanna Spyri, and others. The production presents these time-honored narratives in a faithful, storytelling-focused manner across a limited run of episodes. Only twenty-one installments were broadcast on television; the final five episodes were not aired and later became available exclusively on VHS.
