Synopsis

In a nation where sunlight defines daily life and the concept of rain is unknown, the Sun Kingdom stands dominant. In contrast, the distant Rain Dukedom experiences opposite weather patterns, and its people can summon rain using their voices. Livius Orvinus Ifrikia, who has unified the world and extended his realm’s reach within three years of becoming king, learns of this rainmaking ability and resolves to wed Nike Remercier, a princess of the Rain Dukedom. Outside the Sun Kingdom, stories depict Livius as harsh and merciless; such tales reach Nike and lead her to steel herself for a difficult match. When she meets her intended, however, Nike finds he differs markedly from the image conveyed by those rumors, creating a tension between expectation and reality while the two realms and their opposing climates form the story’s backdrop.
