Dorothy, a young girl living with Uncle Henry and Aunt Em on a Kansas farm, is unexpectedly transported with her dog Toto to the fantastical realm of Oz. As they journey toward the Emerald City along the yellow brick road, they befriend a Tin Woodsman, a Scarecrow, and a fearful Lion, each seeking something missing from their lives. Dorothy hopes the city's enigmatic ruler, the Wizard, can return her to Kansas. However, the Wizard’s offer comes with a harsh condition: Dorothy and her companions must confront the Wicked Witch of the West and liberate the Winkies from her domination.
