Synopsis

Shun Hashimoto, an openly gay would-be novelist in Okinawa, was left by his parents after revealing his sexuality. He lives trying to build a life and his craft when he encounters Mio Chibana, a quiet orphaned high schooler who spends much of his time by the ocean. Meeting on the beach, Shun is immediately drawn to Mio, and over a brief span they develop a tentative closeness. Their connection is interrupted when Mio unexpectedly departs for the mainland. Three years later, a twenty-year-old Mio comes back to Okinawa to declare his love for Shun. By then, Shun’s circumstances and outlook have shifted, and he must confront whether he can respond to Mio’s feelings and commit despite the changes that have occurred in his life.
