Synopsis

Shuuhei Amamiya arrives as a transfer student and reveals his piano ability, which draws the hostility of class bully Daigaku Kanehira. Daigaku challenges Shuuhei to seek out a supposedly cursed piano hidden in the nearby forest. There Shuuhei encounters Kai Ichinose, a troubled youth from the rough part of town who claims ownership of the instrument and insists he alone can play it. Captivated, Shuuhei watches Kai perform a striking medley, an experience that shifts their relationship. Kai’s talent and presence also attract the attention of the school’s music instructor, Sousuke Ajino, and lead to Kai beginning formal piano study. The story follows their evolving connection, musical discovery, and the changes that follow from confronting prejudice, talent, and opportunity.
