Synopsis

Kyon, an ordinary high schooler who considers himself a skeptic, finds his routine disrupted when a striking new classmate declares she is tired of the mundane and wants to encounter the supernatural. That student, Haruhi Suzumiya, decides to form a club devoted to finding aliens, time travelers, and espers, enlisting Kyon and three other classmates: a taciturn reader, a reserved upperclasswoman, and an unfailingly upbeat young man. Although they appear typical, each recruit harbors a secret connected to Haruhi. As Kyon becomes involved in the club’s unpredictable activities, he is drawn into a sequence of strange episodes that gradually reveal more about Haruhi’s nature and the mysteries surrounding the SOS Brigade.
