Synopsis

After a devastating earthquake and tsunami alter their paths, two young girls find refuge at Kitsunezaki station: eight-year-old Hiyori, bereft of her parents, and Yui, fleeing abuse at home. Rescued and brought to an evacuation center, they struggle with uncertainty about who they are. An elderly woman, Kiwa Yamana, steps in to offer shelter and care. Kiwa gives them new names—Yui for Yurie and Hiyori for Moeka—and the three form an unconventional household. Living together in an old seaside residence known as Mayoiga, they share daily routines, mutual support, and the quiet rebuilding of their lives amid recovery and healing.
