Synopsis

In a period when the Taira (Heike) family dominates Japan, a young girl with an unusual eye that grants glimpses of what is to come offends the clan and loses her father as punishment. Later she reappears under the name Biwa and tells Taira no Shigemori, the heir of the clan leader, that the Heike will fall. Moved by the harm she endured, Shigemori—who himself can perceive lingering spirits—decides to protect and shelter her instead of allowing further retribution. As military tensions escalate and conflict looms, Shigemori struggles to avert catastrophe for his house while Biwa, hesitant to disclose future visions, must adjust to a life marked by moments of joy and grief during this decisive chapter of Japanese history.
