Synopsis

Shion Yasuoka, a middle school student whose childhood was shattered by a family tragedy, is rising through the ranks of professional shogi while coping with muteness caused by her trauma. Surrounded by a caring adoptive household and the support of the shogi community, she pursues a demanding career. Her skill draws the interest of Satoru Hani, a prominent businessman related to the reigning Meijin, who organizes an inclusive tournament for professionals and amateurs of any gender and encourages Shion to enter. Satoru's involvement, however, raises concerns: his knowledge of Shion's past alarms her friend Ayumi Saitou and attracts police attention as investigators continue to probe the deaths that upended Shion's life. As the tournament nears its conclusion, memories of the night she lost her family begin to surface. Shion must summon emotional resilience to face opponents and confront the forces tied to her history, balancing competitive pressure with the search for answers.
