Synopsis

An extremist environmental group frees a pregnant chimpanzee from a laboratory, and the animal delivers a human-chimp hybrid called Charlie. Raised by human foster parents, Charlie reaches adolescence and is prepared to enter a mainstream high school, where he forms a friendship with a girl named Lucy. As he navigates school life and belonging, the group that once rescued him adopts a more radical agenda and attempts to involve Charlie in their violent objectives.
