Synopsis

Following two previous expeditions, Wu Xie returns to Hangzhou. An unforeseen communication from Lao Yi, a long-absent associate, initiates a new undertaking. Lao Yi recounts their past adventures in the Qinling Mountains from three years prior and extends an invitation to Wu Xie for a joint exploration of ancient ruins. Wu Xie agrees, and they embark on an expedition into the Qinling range. Their journey uncovers a colossal Zheluo salmon, a magnificent underground river waterfall, and an incredible ancient sacred tree. During their venture, Zhang Qiling, typically a solitary figure, provides discreet support to Wu Xie.
