Synopsis
Mahiru Shiina, admired for her beauty and excellence in school and sports, seems to belong to a different world than her reclusive next-door neighbor, Amane Fujimiya. Though they live side by side, they have never exchanged words until a rainy evening when Fujimiya notices Mahiru sitting sadly on a swing and offers his umbrella. After he wakes up ill the following day, Mahiru returns the kindness by tending to him, believing their brief exchange might be their only contact. Fujimiya, who accepts her care in silence, soon experiences more than a passing courtesy: Mahiru becomes concerned about his untidy habits and poor diet and begins to cook and clean for him. As they spend quiet days together in his apartment, the two gradually discover the true character of their connection and the soft feelings that develop between them.
