Synopsis

After a disagreement among his companions, Tenchi retreats into the nearby woods seeking solitude. While wandering, he follows a voice emanating from a camellia tree and disappears through a gateway. Six months pass without word of him. Though many assume he is gone for good, his friends refuse to abandon the search and divide into two groups: Aeka and Ryouko remain on Earth to investigate leads there, while Washuu, Sasami, Kiyone, and Mihoshi scour the wider galaxy. Their persistence yields a breakthrough when they detect Tenchi’s energy signature. The expected relief is complicated by the discovery that Tenchi appears to have no recollection of them and is living contentedly with another woman, leaving the group confronted with new uncertainties rather than simple answers.
