Synopsis

Japan endures a series of catastrophic natural disasters, commencing on August 10, 2002, with the eruption of Mount Fuji, accompanied by major earthquakes and tsunamis that leave the country in a state of emergency. A subsequent powerful earthquake on August 15 further divides the nation. Japanese citizens seek refuge in various countries, while the Japanese government accepts aid from China and the United States. This assistance results in China governing the northern part of Japan and the United States governing the southern part. Fifteen years later, a conflict arises in Taiwan between Japanese refugees and Taiwanese citizens, fueled by job competition and the refugees' ongoing difficult circumstances. Genichiro Ryu, a survivor of Japan's initial devastation who was raised in Taiwan by adoptive parents, becomes involved in this situation. He endeavors to facilitate a resolution that enables coexistence between the two groups.
