Synopsis

A willful and sheltered ten-year-old girl named Chihiro Ogino moves toward a new home with her parents and discovers an abandoned amusement park along the way. When she and her family explore the site at dusk, unsettling events reveal that the place is linked to the spirit realm: spectral figures appear and a mysterious meal causes her parents to transform into pigs. Isolated in this otherworldly domain, Chihiro must find the inner strength to survive and work among a variety of supernatural beings. Guided by the elusive Haku and aided by the odd residents she encounters, she embarks on a fraught journey to protect her parents and find a path back to the human world. The story follows her emotional growth and resourcefulness as she navigates unfamiliar rules, strange allies, and the challenges of living within the spirit world.
