Synopsis

Humanity colonizes the stars and investigates the ruins of extinct extraterrestrial cultures. On the planet Solo, researchers uncover the remains of such a society and then meet a surviving alien people known as the Buff Clan. When Karala Ajiba, daughter of the Buff Clan's military commander, appears on Solo's surface, the clan mounts an aggressive operation to reclaim her. Amid the assault, colonists Cosmo Yuki, Kasha Imhof, and Bes Jordan flee by boarding three transport trucks that unexpectedly become the towering humanoid machine called Ideon. As the colony is overwhelmed, the remaining settlers evacuate aboard a newly found spacecraft, the Solo Ship, aiming to distance themselves from the conflict and seek a place of calm. The Buff Clan continues to pursue them relentlessly, forcing the refugees to struggle for survival while trying to achieve peace.
