Synopsis

In 2006, two brothers witness a strange object near the Moon and make a shared pledge to become astronauts: Hibito to reach the Moon, and Mutta to aim for Mars so he can stay a step ahead. As adults, their paths diverge—Mutta is employed at an automotive firm while Hibito progresses toward becoming the first Japanese astronaut to set foot on the Moon. When Mutta loses his job, he applies to the Japanese space agency and gains acceptance into the upcoming astronaut selection despite doubts about his abilities. Determined not to let the promise made nearly two decades earlier go unfulfilled, he undertakes the demanding process and personal transformation required to chase the dream he and his brother once declared.
