Synopsis

In Death City sits the Death Weapon Meister Academy, an institution led by Lord Death where students train to create weapons for combating supernatural dangers. Instead of crafting metal armaments, the school cultivates human hybrids capable of transforming into Demon Weapons; these weapons reach full status only after consuming ninety-nine malignant souls and one witch’s soul. Among the academy’s pairs is Soul Eater Evans, a Demon Scythe more concerned with appearance than discipline, and his disciplined meister, Maka Albarn, who aim to elevate Soul to Death Scythe rank. They are joined by other teams: the impulsive Black☆Star with his adaptable weapon Tsubaki, and Death’s own son, Death the Kid, who handles twin pistols Patty and Liz while struggling with compulsive orderliness. Together the students accept missions to gather souls and defend the city, training their minds, bodies, and spirits beneath the ever-present, teasing sun.
