Synopsis

Sonic the Hedgehog and his friend Miles "Tails" Prower live in a derelict airplane on South Island's glittering shorelines. When the president of Planet Freedom issues an urgent summons, the pair arrive to find Dr. Eggman unexpectedly occupying his office like it were his own. Though Sonic would rather deal with Eggman quickly and return to his carefree life, Eggman insists he has no new schemes and instead requests assistance: the power source sustaining Eggmanland has been taken over and driven beyond safe limits by an unknown force. If the overload is not resolved, the generator could explode and destroy both Eggmanland and Sonic and Tails' homes. Skeptical but unwilling to risk the destruction, Sonic and Tails accept help only grudgingly and venture into the dangerous unknown, where an enemy that feels strangely familiar waits.
