In the lush, tranquil nation of Simulacrum on the planet Daikuuriku, flight vessels known as Simoun are central to society. Operated by Sibylla priestesses, these craft draw on relics to access Ri Maajon, devastating abilities capable of rending the heavens. Aaeru, a headstrong young woman, enters Chor Tempest aiming to become a Simoun pilot. Her enlistment coincides with the outbreak of war as neighboring powers seek to seize the technology, convinced it can avert catastrophe for their homelands. Facing external attacks and the emotional toll of loss, the Sibylla of Chor Tempest must adapt quickly while attempting to uncover the deeper truths surrounding the Simoun and the dangerous force of Ri Maajon.
