Synopsis

On the world of Zora, two distinct societies exist: the domed-city Innocent, technologically advanced and dominant, and the Civilians, relegated to a punishing desert. Under the Innocents’ legal custom, a Civilian who commits an offense is absolved if not brought to justice within three days. Jiron Amos, a Civilian whose parents were killed by the outlaw Timp Sharon, pursues vengeance even though the three-day window has long closed. In an attempt to seize the mecha Xabungle from merchant Carrying Cargo, Jiron allies with the Sandrats, a band of desert raiders, and abducts Cargo’s daughter Elchi, who gradually understands and sympathizes with his motives. What begins as a personal vendetta escalates into a broader struggle that challenges the Innocents’ authority and leads the Civilians toward rebellion.
