Synopsis

A devoted fan of xianxia fiction, Shen Yuan, finds himself transported into the narrative world of Proud Immortal Demon Way. Expecting to follow the familiar arc where the protagonist turns to the demonic path, takes vengeance on an abusive master, and gains power and followers, Shen Yuan instead occupies the position of the reviled mentor, Shen Qingqiu—the figure in the original tale who will suffer public disgrace and provoke his disciple's ire. Determined to avoid that outcome, Shen Qingqiu sets out to alter the course of events so he will not be betrayed by Luo Binghe, the story's central figure. His efforts to behave differently are repeatedly obstructed by a controlling system designed to enforce the established plot and preserve the original character's cruel tendencies. Facing repeated scripted tragedies intended to mold Luo Binghe's future choices, Shen Qingqiu must find a way to build a genuine connection with his student and prevent the cycle of vengeance that the novel originally prescribed.
