Synopsis

In a remote future on a world reminiscent of an ancient home, remnants of a long conflict linger where warriors have fused metal with flesh. After a protracted war, a fragile calm has returned, yet hardship remains. Kanna Village endures hunger and abductions by ruthless mechanized raiders known as Nobuseri. Facing desperation, the villagers decide to seek out hired defenders. Kirara, the village’s water priestess, her younger sister Komachi, and a grieving villager named Rikichi set out to recruit samurai, able to offer only a scant rice harvest in payment. Their journey, marked by peril and occasional fortune, brings together seven samurai whose skills and histories differ widely. Together they prepare to confront the Nobuseri and the merchants who empower them, while the villagers confront the costs of survival and protection. This story adapts the core drama and moral tensions of Kurosawa Akira’s Shichinin no Samurai into a mechanized, postwar setting without revealing key outcomes.
