Synopsis

As a child Nicoletta was left behind when her mother, Olga, departed for Rome to remarry. Fifteen years later, now grown, Nicoletta goes to Rome determined to wreck the life of the woman who abandoned her. She finds Olga working at a modest restaurant called Casetta dell'Orso, and the moment Nicoletta enters, the atmosphere shifts. The eatery is run by elderly men who wear spectacles and carry themselves with calm, knowing kindness; their gentle smiles and soothing voices gradually disarm her. Nicoletta's intent to enact revenge slowly dissipates as she becomes drawn into the quiet, tender rhythms of daily life in Rome and into a soft, everyday romance that challenges the resentment she has carried.
