Xia Ling, a recent college graduate searching for work, follows an unusual interview notice that leads her off course into Rakshasa Street, where she encounters peril. She is saved by Cao Yanbing, a Soul Guardian. As they interact, Cao Yanbing realizes Xia Ling harbors spiritual abilities and hosts a mysterious guardian spirit. Soon Xia Ling becomes a target of unknown assassins, and Cao Yanbing becomes entangled in the conflict. Their lives grow linked as they confront these threats, and a deeper, more hazardous secret appears to lie behind the unfolding events.
