Synopsis

In a town where fairy tale elements are part of everyday life, Ahiru—awkward, kind, and gentle—appears an unlikely heroine. Unknown to most, Ahiru is a duck transformed into a human girl by the enigmatic Drosselmeyer. She discovers her purpose when she learns that, using a magical egg-shaped pendant, she can become Princess Tutu: an elegant ballet dancer whose performances soothe emotional wounds. Embracing this role, Ahiru sets out to recover the fragmented pieces of a prince’s heart, which he once shattered to imprison a malevolent raven. The story explores the efforts of its characters to resist or accept destiny; their convictions, emotions, and choices shape whether the tale will reach a peaceful resolution.
