Synopsis

Princess Arete lives isolated in a castle tower under her father's control, spending her days observing the outside world from her window and occasionally watching common people go about their work. Knights vie for her hand and the right to govern by searching for potent relics created by a vanished sorcerer race, but Arete rejects this contest and yearns to meet ordinary people and explore foreign lands she has only encountered in the secret books hidden beneath her bed. When the sorcerer Boax appears in an extraordinary flying contraption and proposes to take her as his wife and mold her into an idealized princess, her desire for autonomy and real experience faces a new challenge.
