Synopsis

In the fifth ward of the Imperial Capital, Black Cat Cafe employs advanced mechanical dolls called Automata who, after a recent restoration, serve patrons while wearing refined kimonos. The war ended years earlier, leaving many Automata adrift; though they now live in a calmer era, memories of former duties and unresolved events linger, making it hard for them to release old obligations. Among the staff is Haizakura, an Automaton who underwent a reset and emerged without her past memories. Confused about who she once was and what role she should play in this gentle but unfamiliar daily life, Haizakura nonetheless discovers a clear, personal joy: singing. Guided by curiosity and the songs she loves, Haizakura and her fellow Automata navigate the search for renewed purpose, leaning on one another through the difficulties of rebuilding their identities and adapting to peace.
