Synopsis

Set in a future where advanced urban technology has bypassed a secluded mountain settlement, the story follows Higure Akane, a middle schooler raised in Kagami Village. The community still observes an age-old warning: misbehavior invites a doppelgänger. After a year apart while her elder sister Higure Sui was hospitalized, Akane anticipates Sui’s homecoming. That expectation is shattered when a single phone call casts doubt on the identity of the person now living in their house, forcing Akane to confront fear and uncertainty amid the village’s lingering superstition.
