Synopsis

Perrine, a young girl raised in Bosnia by her Indian mother and devoted father, faces a life changed when her father dies. Her mother clings to one final wish: to reach her own father in France. Together they plan an arduous journey of more than a thousand kilometers, supporting themselves by taking portraits of people in the towns they pass. Accompanied by their sturdy donkey Palikare and loyal dog Baron, they set out toward Paris. Along the route they meet generous strangers, pass through depopulated villages, and endure various trials. The story follows Perrine and her mother as they navigate the practical and emotional challenges of the long trek toward France, relying on each other and the occasional kindness of those they encounter.
