Synopsis

In a future society shaped by hip-hop culture, performers stage immersive shows called Phantom Lives, converting intense feelings into vivid illusions via a substance known as Phantometal. This material synchronizes with a rapper’s DNA to manifest striking visual and sensory spectacles, yet its use exposes artists to Triggered recollections—Trap Reactions—that force them to re-experience painful past events. The severity of these reactions varies with emotional intensity and can undermine a performer’s mental stability. A decade after it vanished, the famed CLUB Paradox unexpectedly reappears to launch a new Phantom Live tournament, Paradox Live, offering a ten billion yen prize. Four established acts—BAE, The Cat’s Whiskers, cozmez, and Akanyatsura—are invited to participate. Though suspicious of the club’s return, each group has personal motives for entering the contest, and they soon find the route to success fraught with harsher challenges than anticipated.
