Synopsis

Oshin, a seven-year-old from a destitute rice-farming family, steps away from her education to help her relatives survive. With her father and brother laboring in the paddies and her pregnant mother and elderly grandmother struggling to secure enough food, Oshin elects to work as a domestic servant in the home of an affluent household. There, she endures severe hardships and emotional trials that test her resilience while striving to provide for her family.
