Synopsis

Hiroto Suwa, now 26, reunites with his wife Naho and former classmates Takako, Azusa, and Saku at Mt. Koubou to view cherry blossoms at sunset. While remembering their friend Kakeru Naruse, who died a decade earlier, they travel to Kakeru’s former home and learn the circumstances of his death from his grandmother. Burdened by regret, the group composes letters addressed to their sixteen-year-old selves in hopes of easing their conscience. Armed with guidance from a future letter, the younger Suwa is presented with an opportunity to alter the course of events he once lived through. The story follows the emotional repercussions and decisions that arise as a past self confronts knowledge from the future and explores whether changing certain choices can bring peace or create a different fate.
