Synopsis

Morimura Aiko is a petite junior high girl whose family life has been shaped by absence and misfortune. A decade earlier her father left on a yacht and never returned, while her mother, a hat designer, departed for Paris and entrusted Aiko to the care of her uncle, Mr. Fujinami. Aiko once had a pet called Papi, who was killed in a traffic accident, leaving her with grief and solitude. Soon after, a different dog named Spank appears and, through steady companionship, begins to lift Aiko’s spirits and restore gentle happiness to her daily life.
