Synopsis

A thousand years after a devastating nuclear catastrophe called the "Seven Days of Fire," the remnants of humanity live amid a rapidly advancing, hostile jungle mutated by the disaster. This toxic wilderness, filled with deadly spores and giant insects, threatens the survival of the few human communities left. One refuge, a coastal agricultural realm known as the Valley of the Wind, remains safe from the jungle’s airborne poisons. Its compassionate young ruler, Princess Nausicaä, enjoys a fragile peace until a Tolmekian airship crashes in the Valley. Among the wreckage the Valley’s people discover a disturbing, throbbing artifact. Tolmekian forces soon arrive with the aim of restoring a perilous weapon from the era of the Fall. Nausicaä must prevent the Tolmekians from unleashing a calamity that could finish off humanity, while safeguarding her people and confronting the encroaching lethal forest.
