Following his success on the provisional hero exam, Izuku Midoriya pursues an extracurricular placement with a professional hero group. Acting on guidance from his mentor, he joins the team led by Sir Nighteye, a former partner of All Might. While classmates train through their own internships, a powerful antagonist named Kai Chisaki—also called Overhaul—uses a destructive ability to build influence within criminal circles. Chisaki's objectives bring him into conflict with the League of Villains and its leader, Tomura Shigaraki. During his assignment with Sir Nighteye, Midoriya uncovers Chisaki's organization and learns of the villain's abusive connection to a young girl named Eri. Concerned for her welfare, Midoriya and his senior peer Mirio Toogata join forces to stop Chisaki's harmful activities.
