Synopsis

A freshman named Tadayasu Sawaki possesses an unusual vision that lets him observe microorganisms unaided, perceiving them as small, chibi-like figures. He can make out a variety of microbes, from the fungi responsible for athlete's foot to yeasts used in fermentation. Enrolled at an agricultural university in Tokyo, his gift attracts attention from faculty members, notably a fermentation specialist, Professor Itsuki. Initially indifferent about his ability, Sawaki — supported by a quirky group of professors and peers — gradually comes to value the microbes he can see and the role his perception plays in his studies and daily life.
