Synopsis

Haruno Kasumi, a fourth-grade girl, comes to Kasumi Town to see her zoologist parents off as they depart for research in Africa. She takes up residence in the sprawling Kasumi family mansion set beside a forest, where a peculiar atmosphere pervades the rooms. Within the house Kasumi encounters a group of sentient household beings known to the family as Henamon—appliances and domestic items that communicate. In exchange for lodging and care from the Kasumi household, she contributes to daily life by handling tasks like cooking and laundry. As she interacts with the Henamon and the household members, Kasumi adjusts to this unfamiliar environment and begins a new phase of her childhood among a cast of distinctive characters.
