At seventeen, Marco Polo departs Venice alongside his father Nicolo and uncle Matteo for the unfamiliar realm called Yuan. Their journey carries two critical items: holy oil entrusted to them from the Tomb of Christ and a formal letter from the Pope addressed to Kublai. Together they embark on a long voyage into foreign territory, facing the uncertainties of travel while bearing these sacred and diplomatic responsibilities.
