Synopsis

In 2046, a breakthrough material—reinforced cardboard with exceptional shock absorption—emerges and quickly reshapes international trade. This new material becomes central to a widely practiced children's pastime known as LBX (Little Battler eXperience), turning model battles into a cultural phenomenon. Four years on, Yamano Ban, a boy who enjoys LBX but lacks his own battle unit, encounters a mysterious woman who entrusts him with a case containing the AX-00. With that model placed in his care, he is told that he bears the collective hopes and fears of humanity, setting the stage for events that will challenge him and those around him.
