These twelve stone figures enable humanity to avert an extinction-level event known as the Equatorial Winter, but they require people to fashion enormous armored bodies to become their forms. Those artificial bodies force humans into combat against one another, reshaping society as survival depends on operating these colossal suits while confronting the moral and practical consequences of warfare driven by the relics.
