Synopsis

As a child, Shinobu spent time in England where she formed a close bond with Alice Cartelet, the daughter of the household hosting her. Though their farewell was marked by limited shared language, their attachment endured. Five years later, now entering her first year of high school, Shinobu receives an airmail letter written in a tongue she cannot read. The writer is Alice, who explains that she will be coming to Japan to stay with Shinobu and enroll at her school. Together with classmates Youko Inokuma, Aya Komichi, and Karen Kujou, the group navigates daily school life and the small, quiet lessons that arise from living between different cultures, deepening friendships through ordinary moments and mutual curiosity.
