Midori Asakusa perceives surroundings with imaginative depth, constantly sketching backgrounds that blend external scenery with inner visions; even a casual mural becomes a repair task on her spaceship fantasy. Her grounded friend Sayaka Kanamori pulls her back from flights of fancy with a pragmatic, businesslike demeanor. After rescuing young model Tsubame Misuzaki from an overprotective minder, Asakusa and Misuzaki connect over a shared devotion to drawing—Asakusa favoring settings and atmosphere, Misuzaki specializing in the human figure. Kanamori, recognizing both creative chemistry and potential profit, proposes they form an animation club under the guise of a motion picture society to avoid the existing anime club at their school. The three begin collaborating to produce original animation, combining wonder, technical focus, and character work as they pursue ambitious creative goals.
