Synopsis

Set in an Edo-period Japan rich with distinct sword arts, this story follows Shichika Yasuri, practitioner of Kyotouryuu—a discipline that treats the body itself as the blade. As the secluded seventh leader of his school, he lives a quiet life with his sister Nanami until Togame, an audacious strategist, intrudes and proposes a mission: recover twelve singular weapons called the Deviant Blades on behalf of the shogunate. Shichika agrees more out of curiosity about Togame than allegiance to any cause, and together they embark on a hazardous expedition. Along their route they confront the formidable masters who wield those swords and contend with rival forces driven by ambition and political aims. To survive and fulfill the task, Shichika and Togame must rely on one another and develop a resilient partnership while navigating betrayal, danger, and the unknown.
