Kujo Jotaro, an otherwise ordinary and well-liked Japanese high-school student, becomes convinced he is possessed and isolates himself. His grandfather, Joseph Joestar, and Joseph’s associate, Muhammad Abdul, reveal that the presence Jotaro senses is actually Star Platinum, a Stand—an externalized fighting spirit given semi-corporeal form. When Jotaro’s mother develops illness tied to a newly manifested Stand, they learn the cause is the return of the vampire Dio Brando, resurrected a century after his defeat by Jonathan Joestar, Jotaro’s ancestor. Determined to end Dio’s threat, Jotaro joins Joseph and Abdul on a journey to Egypt to confront the vampire and resolve the danger to his family.
