Synopsis

In a distant future where humanity fled a ruined Earth to the stars but could no longer travel into space, survivors return to find only Japan habitable. To accommodate the global population, pocket dimensions are formed around Japan and daily life unfolds within a structured reenactment of human history based on a sacred text known as the Testament. By Testament Era 1413 the pocket nations have invaded and seized Japan, fragmenting it into feudal domains and displacing its native people. Now, in Testament Era 1648, the displaced Japanese live aboard the roving city-ship Musashi, which circles the fragmented homeland under the oversight of the Testament Union that manages the staged historical progression. When the Union ceases to reveal events beyond 1648, unease and rumors of catastrophe and war spread. Seizing the uncertainty, Toori Aoi—leader of Musashi Ariadust Academy’s Supreme Federation and student council president—organizes his classmates to take action aimed at restoring their homeland.
