Synopsis

Finn, a streetwise orphan trying to save his threatened home, heads to a casino hoping to change his fortunes but is drawn into a violent incident sparked by a man’s supposedly “lucky” card. He soon discovers that a set of 52 mystical X-Playing cards exists, each capable of granting distinct superhuman abilities and awakening a hidden companion power within their bearer. A covert group called High Card, acting under orders from Fourland’s monarch and operating publicly as staff of the luxury automaker Pinochle, is tasked with recovering these scattered cards. Recruited as the team’s fifth member, Finn sets out with them to retrieve the powerful cards. Standing in their path are rival automaker Who’s Who, determined to outdo Pinochle, and the Klondike crime family, notorious for their brutality. As competing ambitions, vengeance, and competing notions of justice collide, brutal confrontations erupt among those who prize the cards. The conflict escalates into a high-stakes showdown over control of the cards and the power they confer.
