Synopsis

In Center City, California, reserved but warm-hearted Joseph Carter “Joey” Jones helps support his household while working at a café and endures bullying at school. Passionate about robotics, he yearns for an advanced toy robot called a Heybo. Joey and his friend Simon “Psy” Kaina discover a broken Heybo discarded by wealthy peers; Joey repairs it and names it Heroman. After a lightning strike, the repaired robot activates and enlarges dramatically. That night, extraterrestrial invaders known as the Skrugg attack, drawn to Earth by prior contact attempts from Professor Matthew Denton. When the assault reaches Joey’s neighborhood, he and Heroman respond—Joey controls the giant robot via an arm-mounted controller to deploy powerful abilities, rescue civilians including his friend Lina Davis and her father, and counter the Skrugg threat. As the alien offensive escalates, Joey and Heroman become the primary force standing between the city’s inhabitants and widespread destruction.
