Synopsis

Nagisa Aragaki, shattered by a 21–0 defeat at the National Junior Badminton Tournament, allows her shame to warp her relationship with the sport. Her punitive training methods terrorize teammates, pushing some to tears and driving others to leave the high school badminton club. Recruitment stalls as prospective members are frightened away, leaving the team's future precarious. Change comes when Kentarou Tachibana arrives as head coach, bringing elite experience and Ayano Hanesaki, the player who bested Nagisa six months earlier. Ayano, however, is not the triumphant rival Nagisa expects; she is conflicted and seeks distance from badminton. Faced with a collapsing club and a rival in turmoil, Nagisa must confront her feelings of inadequacy, help mend Ayano's wounded relationship with the sport, and strive to restore Kitakomachi High School's badminton team to stability and success.
