Synopsis

After the sudden loss of her boyfriend Hal in an airplane crash, Kurumi retreats into solitude and deep sorrow, living alone in a small house. Her grandfather arranges for Q01, a humanoid robot fashioned to resemble Hal, to live with her and attempt to alleviate her grief. Q01 returns each day, steadily persisting in gentle efforts to reach Kurumi. Though she resists at first, Kurumi gradually allows herself to respond to the robot’s presence and begins to emerge from her depression. As their daily interactions deepen, both Kurumi and Q01 confront surprising realities about the nature of their bond and the complexities of a relationship between a human and an artificial being.
